Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Kacher Travel, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may force you to change your spiritual travel plans. However, pilgrimage routes like Kailash Mansarovar, Char Dham, and Nepal/Tibet require us to make non-refundable advance payments for permits, flights, hotels, and helicopter services months ahead of your journey. Therefore, we follow a strict but transparent cancellation policy.

By confirming a booking and paying an advance with Kacher Travel, you agree to the cancellation terms outlined below.

1. Standard Cancellation Charges

If you wish to cancel your booking, the request must be made in writing via email to care@kachertravel.com. The date we receive the written email will be considered the cancellation date. Telephonic or WhatsApp cancellations will not be accepted as official records.

Days before Date of Departure Cancellation Fee (per person)
30 Days or more 20% of total package cost
15 to 29 Days 50% of total package cost
7 to 14 Days 75% of total package cost
Less than 7 Days / No Show 100% (No Refund)

2. Special Conditions for High-Altitude Yatras

Pilgrimages to Mount Kailash, Mansarovar, Muktinath, and Kedarnath involve complex logistics. The following exceptions apply to these specific packages:

  • Tibet & Nepal Permits/Visas: Visa fees, Tibet Travel Permits, and border fees are strictly 100% non-refundable once the application process has begun, regardless of when you cancel.
  • Helicopter & Flight Tickets: Domestic flights (e.g., Kathmandu to Pokhara) and Helicopter tickets (e.g., Phata/Sersi to Kedarnath, or Simikot to Hilsa) are subject to the policies of the respective aviation companies and are generally 100% non-refundable once issued.
  • Medical Unfitness: For high-altitude yatras, if a pilgrim fails the mandatory medical fitness test at base camps (e.g., Kathmandu, Kerung, or Guptkashi) and is not permitted to proceed by our medical team or local authorities, no refund will be provided for the unutilized portion of the trip.

3. Force Majeure (Acts of God & Weather)

The Himalayas and Tibet are prone to unpredictable weather, landslides, roadblocks, and sudden government directives. In the event of a "Force Majeure" (Acts of God):

  • If a yatra is halted, delayed, or canceled midway due to natural calamities, landslides, heavy snowfall, flight/helicopter cancellations due to bad weather, or sudden changes in government/border policies, Kacher Travel will not be liable for any cash refunds for unutilized services.
  • Our ground team will make every reasonable effort to provide alternate accommodations, reroute the journey, or wait for clearance. Any additional costs incurred for extended hotel stays, meals, or alternate transport during such delays must be borne directly by the traveler.

4. Postponement or Transfer of Booking

If you wish to postpone your yatra to a later date within the same calendar year, we will attempt to accommodate your request, subject to availability. However, a postponement fee and any differences in hotel/transport tariffs will apply. Transferring your booking to another person is strictly prohibited for permit-restricted yatras (like Kailash Mansarovar) due to government security regulations.

5. Refund Processing

Eligible refunds will be processed and credited back to the original source of payment (Bank Transfer, Credit Card, or UPI) within 10 to 15 working days from the date of written cancellation approval. We do not provide cash refunds under any circumstances.

6. Travel Insurance

Given the nature of high-altitude pilgrimages, we strongly advise all travelers to purchase comprehensive travel and medical insurance that covers trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and emergency helicopter evacuations.
